Our Four Values

Compass Community Collaborative School is a purpose-driven 6–12 public charter school in Fort Collins, Colorado. We engage students in meaningful, real-world learning where mastery matters, relationships are foundational, and preparation for life beyond high school is intentional. Our four core values shape everything we do.

  1. Inspired Learning

Creative Curriculum. Mastery Over Memorization.

Compass is not a worksheet–memorize–test–repeat model. We cultivate depth over breadth through project-based learning, competency-based progression, reflection, and revision. With flexible math and language arts placement to challenge students who are ready for enrichment or acceleration, mixed-age classes, and student voice and choice, we “see” your child—and prepare them to excel far beyond traditional standards.

2. Community Collaboration

Small School. Big World.

Learning at Compass extends beyond classroom walls. Through real-world problem solving, dual enrollment with Colorado State University and concurrent enrollment with Front Range Community College, venture-based STEM and Humanities projects, and Exhibitions of Learning, students connect academics to careers, experts, and authentic challenges in Fort Collins and beyond.

3. Love

Relationships First. Leadership Always.

Compass cultivates a kind, respectful, and safe school culture rooted in strong relationships and a CASEL-aligned social-emotional intelligence curriculum. Mixed-age classrooms foster mentorship and leadership, while middle and high school student councils encourage students to step into roles of leadership.

4. Fulfillment

High-Level Academics + Well-Being = Lifelong Learners

True success is balance. Compass combines rigorous academics with purpose-driven goal setting, college concurrent enrollment, Senior Capstone, and real-world internship support. Since launching our first graduating class five years ago, Compass students, now approximately 80 graduates strong, have earned over $3.9 million in college scholarships, a testament to the power of small-by-design, future-ready education.
