Admissions Process

Compass Community Collaborative School is a purpose-driven 6–12 public charter school in Fort Collins, Colorado. We engage students in meaningful, real-world learning where mastery matters, relationships are foundational, and preparation for life beyond high school is intentional.

Step 1: Apply

Important: Compass runs a Lottery and Admissions process separate from Poudre School District

Although Compass is a PSD School of Choice, we run a separate Lottery and Admissions process. To be considered for a seat at Compass, you must submit an application DIRECTLY TO US through our website.

We are no longer taking applications for this school year (2025-26).

Please note:

  • The Pre-Lottery Application window opens each year in early October and closes on the last school day of December. We run the lottery the first week back from winter break in January.

  • Students who have been chosen for admission by the lottery will be notified through email, and will have 3 business days to accept or decline the Offer of Admission. The 3 business days begin on the first full business day AFTER the day that the offer is emailed.

  • Students that have been waitlisted by the lottery will be notified by email, and we will reach out to those on the waitlist if a seat opens.

  • We may continue to accept applications for a short time after the lottery runs. These Post-Lottery Applications can result in a direct Offer of Admission if there is a seat available in that particular grade level, or, will be added to the waitlist until a seat opens.

  • After an Offer of Admission is accepted, the family must COMPLETE OFFICIAL REGISTRATION (before the designated deadline) in order to secure their student's spot at Compass.

  • APPLICATIONS AND WAITLISTS DO NOT ROLL OVER FROM YEAR TO YEAR: This means that if your student is NOT offered admission to the school year for which you have applied, you will need to submit a new application (during the next October-December Pre-Lottery Application window) in order to be considered for admission for the next school year.
