Teacher: Social Studies

Hailing from Iowa, my passion for environmental science began with agriculture, making Colorado State University, originally founded as Colorado Agricultural College, a natural fit. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources in 2023, an experience that introduced me to the rewarding world of education. Through environmental education opportunities with the D.R. and Ginny Pulliam Scholars Program and CSU’s Environmental Learning Center, I discovered a passion for helping students explore and appreciate the world around them.

That passion for teaching continued to grow when I joined Compass as a substitute teacher in September 2025. I am now grateful for the opportunity to lead my own Environmental Science Venture, as well as teach US History—a subject that holds a special place in my heart as a military child who grew up with a deep appreciation for our history, culture, and the stories that shape us.

Outside the classroom, I love finding creative outlets through writing, upcycling and DIY projects, and even building in Minecraft. Creativity is an important part of how I learn, problem-solve, and connect with the world, and I hope to bring that same spirit into my teaching. Above all, I want to inspire students to be curious, creative, and engaged—and to discover that learning can be something they genuinely enjoy."
