2026-2027 School Year
Fort Collins, Colorado
What does it mean to be a teacher at Compass?
Compass is looking for a teacher who is ready to collaborate across disciplines to show students that quantitative reasoning is fun and applicable in all areas of life and learning. Someone who is not afraid to ask students to grapple with the complexity of our world through applied mathematics would fit right into our team of design thinkers and creatives. Mathematical concepts, application, and operational fluency are all important parts of mathematics lessons, and social emotional intelligence is modeled and taught in ALL classes.
You will teach two or three 70-minute math classes. These courses are built to support student curiosity, critical thinking, skill development, and deeper understanding of content knowledge. We use outstanding math curricula, including Desmos for pre-algebra 6-8 and Algebra 1, and Open Up for Geometry and Algebra 2.
Teachers at Compass support student growth in many skill areas. You will be a role model for emotional intelligence, intellectual curiosity, and professional collaboration. You will thrive by being a learning experience designer that embeds skills from design thinking to literacy and numeracy, as well as specific skill development in your mathematics studios and your Venture Projects. Compass teachers are co-learners that model the skills and passions for lifelong learning.
