Megan McBride, M.S.
With a background in experiential education with the Colorado Outward Bound School, followed by a Master of Science degree in social science/recreation management, I've dedicated my career to fostering outdoor exploration and holistic development. I’ve spent my professional career working to balance visitor experiences with resource protection across our public lands. In addition, my family spent a transformative year road-schooling. Clocking over 35,000 miles on our campervan, we explored diverse destinations and experiences from watching a rocket launch at Cape Canaveral to backpacking on remote islands in Isle Royale National Park to confronting our country’s sobering history at the National Memorial for Peace and Justice. We embraced our country as our classroom to expand our perspectives and enrich our understanding of the world. From my personal journey and professional endeavors, I've learned that facilitating students to venture beyond their comfort zones fosters accelerated learning and development, as they harness their critical thinking and creativity. As a proud parent of a thriving Compass student, I'm passionate about ensuring every child has the chance to recognize and pursue their goals. Let’s inspire the next generation to embrace adventure and self-discovery.
