Celebrating the End of a Great Year
As the school year draws to a close, we reflect on the incredible journey we've shared at Compass Community Collaborative School. It's been a year filled with inspired learning, community collaboration, and the pursuit of fulfillment for our students and staff.
A highlight of the end of our school year was our recent two-day Advisory Olympics - a celebration of the tight-knit, supportive community that is fostered at Compass. Advisory is a cornerstone of our model, designed to provide a supportive environment and emphasize social-emotional learning. Events like this would likely strengthen relationships among students and staff, building a sense of belonging that is central to our value of Love, which aims to create a safe and compassionate school. These activities underscore the importance of working together and supporting one another, reflecting the value we place on Community Collaboration.
This year, our students have demonstrated remarkable inspired learning through their engagement in unique educational experiences. They have tackled real-world problems by collaborating with community partners, a key aspect of our approach. This focus on applied skills and competencies prepares them for success in their personal, academic, and professional lives. We've seen their hard work and innovative spirit recognized through various achievements, such as the John Irwin Award from the State of Colorado and the US News & World Report Ranking of Compass as the number one middle school in Fort Collins. Plus, students went to State for Robotics and nationals for Odyssey of the Mind. These accomplishments are testaments to the dedication and talent of our students and the impactful learning environment cultivated by our staff.
As we look ahead, we are guided by our mission to inspire students to learn with purpose and passion as they author the best possible story of their lives and our collective future. The experiences of this past year, culminating in events that celebrate our community and values, reinforce our commitment to empowering students to become self-directed learners and positive change makers.
