Compass High School Pleiades Robotics Team Represents Colorado

Students gather on the competition for at the FIRST Governor's Cup robotics challenge in Washington D.C.

An epic trip to Washington, D.C. was had by the Compass High School Pleiades Robotics team!

The Compass Pleiades robotics team was proud to represent Colorado at the inaugural Governor’s Cup in Washington, D.C. in February!

The team literally flew their robot, Cronos, across the country, then wheeled him through the rain to beautiful Constitution Hall in the heart of D.C.

The event kicked off with something unforgettable—a live call from the International Space Station!!

From there, the competition was on.

Pleiades competed against five teams from across the United States, met with Governor Jared Polis, and wrapped up the celebration with a private concert by will.i.am.

And of course, when you bring students to D.C., you explore!

Between matches they visited:

  • The Air and Space Museum

  • The American History Museum

  • The Natural History Museum

  • And braved the weather to visit monuments across the city

The team finished 24th out of 50 teams, meeting their goal of landing in the top half of the competition.

With a 3–2 competition record, they held their own against some incredible teams.

But more importantly…

They made memories that will last a lifetime.

Way to represent Compass and Colorado, Pleiades.
