Compass’s First Graduate Earns Scholarships and Offers

← Back to Compass Stories

Mia Anderson joined Compass as a Sophomore when we opened our school in August of 2018. She quickly stood out as a leader and fully embraced all the opportunities our model offers.

Mia jumped right into leadership roles, she created her own Venture Projects, and earned an internship with No Barriers where she was reported to have been the “best intern they have ever had” (and this is in a field where their interns are usually college students or college graduates!).

Conserve School in northern Wisconsin for this spring semester of her junior year. As the leap to the Conserve school approached, Mia decided that she also wanted to take advantage of her hard work and stellar preparation to graduate early from high school and go to college to deepen her studies and broaden her experiences.

Mia was accepted at Prescott College, University of Montana, Western Colorado University, Fort Lewis College, Quest University, Evergreen State College, and College of the Atlantic, and was offered over $94,000 in merit scholarships!

We are so proud of her! In August, Mia will be representing Compass Community Collaborative School as a freshman at Prescott College in Arizona, and we know that she will continue to shine as she “authors the best possible story of her life and our collective futures!” Congratulations, Mia!
