Coding for Global Goals Venture
Students in Dawn's Coding for Global Goals venture are learning about the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals by participating in two projects. They are collaborating with an international team to create solutions for Goal #2, Zero Hunger, and present them to an audience of middle schoolers around the world. Students are also entering the BBC micro:bit do your :bit challenge in which students are coding an invention that will address goals #3, Good Health and Well Being, or #13, Climate Action. Global community, sustainability, coding, and written communication will be investigated throughout using design thinking skills. Watch the do your :bit promo video here.
Senior Planning Venture
Seniors are working on finalizing their seven portfolio elements for graduation including community experiences, interviewing community members, research papers, and reflecting on experiences in leadership, inquiry, and other academic and futures pursuits. They are also finalizing personal finance coursework and college applications.
