Think water is just something that comes out of the tap? Not the students in Kaylie’s Water Wars venture class. This year, middle school students are diving deep into one of Earth’s most precious (and surprisingly powerful) resources: water. ✨
These kids have been studying rivers and creeks, visiting local water facilities, and are becoming hydrologists and global thinkers. They’re exploring how water shapes communities and even influences politics. They’re asking big questions like:
- How do we share water across borders?
- How do we build stable water systems for everyone?
- And most importantly—what do we need to do TODAY to ensure clean, safe water for the generations to come?
Compass students aren't memorizing textbooks—with our small class sizes, project-based learning model, and hands-on approach, they’re taking on the role of future problem-solvers, and it’s so exciting to see their ideas flow (sorry, we can't resist a good pun!).
We extend a
big thank you to our community partners City of Fort Collins, Outreach Fort Collins, and the Cache la Poudre River National Heritage Area for enriching our students' education through real-world learning.
