International Researcher Shares Power of HCD with Compass

Dr. Amanda Stronza led a whole-school assembly to share her work with EcoExist, a nonprofit working in Botswana to help elephants and humans coexist. Her work exemplifies humanity-centered design (HCD), the same process of learning and creating that Compass teaches and practices.

Venture Highlight: Students Design Independent Ventures

Compass offers students the opportunity to employ entrepreneurial mindsets and use community-engaged project-based learning (venture projects) to inspire deep learning of academic, social-emotional, and 21st Century essential skills. Middle Schoolers Shine in FIRST Lego League Competition

A team from CCCS has brought home our first Robotics trophy! Congratulations to team “Make This!” and members Henry R, Clara W, Marek K, and Jack D. These young engineers won the first-place Champion’s Award at their FIRST Lego League qualifier on November 9 at Liberty High School.

Youth are the Change

Students from the Leadership and Photography seminar, Being the Change Through the Lens, hosted a Youth Art Exhibition at the Colorado Feed and Grain Public Market and Coffeehouse in Timnath October 24-November 2. During the month of October, several Compass students completed the Intercultural Community Builder’s (ICB) Teen Intercultural Leadership training and workshop.

A Visit with Our Attorney General

November 11th, 2019

Bonnie, Shamayim, and Jason took nearly 40 students to CSU to hear speaker Attorney General Weiser on election day. He spoke about the importance of staying positive and involved in government policy, even when politics are frustrating and divisive. It was really inspirational!
